Vertigo Haze History

 

Vertigo Haze was formed in Richmond, VA in 1997 by Lead Vocalist/ Guitarist, Shawn Mitchell and Bassist, David Mills. Their first show was opening for Badfinger at Richmond’s Flood Zone venue that had previously featured acts from The Smithereens to Gov’t Mule on its stage. Through the years, Vertigo Haze has featured many different lineups of Musicians at the discretion of Shawn, remaining the voice and foundation of Vertigo Haze. In 2005, Shawn and Drummer, Rick Taormino recorded the band’s first full length release, “Naked Eyes”, selling copies worldwide via www.cdbaby.com and featuring 15 tracks spanning from 1997-2005.

Shawn has been at work on the next release, “Damage Control”, which will be available towards the end of 2008 and independently distributed featuring some top notch Studio Musicians that Shawn has met in his musical journeys. 11 years and many highs and lows have been the story of Vertigo Haze thus far, but the one thing remains is the soul and spirit that Shawn puts into Vertigo Haze to mark the band’s place in musical history. What’s on the horizon for Vertigo Haze? – Wherever Shawn takes it, be it the horizon or the band, Shawn controls it all.
